The residents and team at Galsworthy House Nursing Home in Kingston Upon Thames welcomed ZooLab to their home this week.
Many of our residents enjoy when they visit as not only does it help with therapy, but everyone learns fun facts about the different animals. On this visit our residents go to hold a snake, an African snail, stick insect, frog and millipede. There were mixed reactions based on the feel of the animals but it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved.
The positive benefits of being around animals are well documented and these therapy sessions help to promote mental wellbeing amongst our residents and it is a great way to bring everyone together. Providing an opportunity to have some fun whilst also being informative and full of animal facts.
The residents are already looking forward to their next session and welcoming other animals into our community.
