Celebrating the incredible women who make up the heart of the Galsworthy House community, residents and staff recently hosted a heartwarming Mother’s Day celebration filled with love, laughter, and plenty of tea.
At Galsworthy House, the team believes in the importance of honouring life’s special milestones, and this year’s Mother’s Day was no exception. The day was dedicated to celebrating not just mums, but also aunties and the many wonderful motherly figures who call the home their own.
The festivities began with a delicious Mother’s Day lunch, followed by a grand afternoon tea that proved to be the highlight of the day. The hospitality and kitchen teams pulled out all the stops, serving an elegant spread of traditional sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and a variety of cakes. With an Alexa providing a curated playlist of atmospheric music, the lounge was transformed into a bustling, joyful hub of activity.
Preparation for the event was a true team effort. Families were invited weeks in advance to ensure they could join in the fun, while the care team worked hard to ensure every resident felt their absolute best for the occasion.
The true magic of the afternoon lay in the sense of community. While many families joined their loved ones for tea, the Galsworthy team ensured that no one felt left out. Residents whose families couldn’t attend were invited to join other family groups, leading to wonderful new connections and lively conversations across the tables. For those who preferred a quieter afternoon, the activities team hand-delivered Mother’s Day activity booklets, ensuring there were smiles in every corner of the home.
