Recently, Firtree House Care Home in Tunbridge Wells brought their residents, families and friends together for a mini-Woodstock festival to celebrate the much-loved music, art and fashion of the 1960s.
Woodstock 1969 was a major festival that epitomised the Swinging Sixties spirit that most of Firtree House’s residents have great memories of.
In preparation for the event, the activities team transformed the conservatory into a little festival venue, made possible by Firtree’s very creative administrator, Tom, who pulled his resources to bring in a stage and musical instruments.
Residents also put their arts and crafts skills into the mix with some funky decorations and tie-dyed clothes, helping to spruce up the space with some flower power!
Everyone had a great time dressing up in flowery wreaths and psychedelic sunglasses, dancing along to the brilliant Kelly Pepper who performed some nostalgic 60s classics.
Firtree’s Woodstock festival was a huge hit with residents, family and friends who all had a ‘groovy’ time partying together!
