Bradbury House Residential Care Home is conveniently located in the heart of Braintree, close to a range of amenities including shops, cafés, pubs, a museum and theatre, ensuring that our residents can be supported to easily access everything they need for a fulfilling lifestyle. Braintree, is a small market town that enjoys a weekly market and we are within a short walk of shops, cafes, a church and beautiful public gardens.
Life at Bradbury House has a real community feel, a home from home. Our community offers an inviting dining area, where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals and if they wish to do so they can help themselves to a drink at the bar. When the sun is shining residents can relax on the front patio and even if it’s raining residents can have some quiet time listening to forest music whilst sitting in the indoor garden.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.
We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.
Reviews
The relationships between the staff and the residents were clearly genuinely friendly and full of fun and good humour. It was also easy to see that the staff put in a lot of effort to make the home, well, homely!
The coffee was also excellent, and I appreciated the opportunity to enjoy it while being shown around, and introduced to residents who were in good spirits.
A smaller home, but still wonderful!
Bradbury isn’t just a care home it’s a Family that makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter the building.

Meet the Manager
Sheree is our Home Manager at Bradbury House Care Home, here’s a little bit more about the home in her own words:
“I have worked in the care sector for 28 years, starting as a Night Care Assistant in a nursing home. I have worked as a Care Assistant, then Senior Care Assistant in various residential, nursing and dementia homes. I joined Bradbury House 12 years ago and was a Senior Care Assistant for six years, also covering as Head Chef during this time. I then progressed to Deputy Home Manager for six years and at the end of July 2023 I became the Home Manager.
I oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that we meet all legislative and compliance requirements. I recruit and support my team members, as well as provide information and advice to support our residents and their families.
I enjoy my job because it is fun! I love talking and listening to our residents about their life before coming to live at Bradbury House. I love bringing a fun element to their day by being a little crazy! I feel happy knowing that I make our residents feel safe and confident knowing that their best interests are my priority.
I love leading my team and encouraging their ideas, no matter how big or small, to improve and enhance our residents stay at our home. I feel that I have a positive impact and that I motivate others and believe that my team enjoy coming to work at Bradbury House.
My biggest achievement must be achieving the role of Home Manager through hard work, training, and dedication. Personally, one of my proudest achievements was canyon walking. I was petrified, but excited at the same time and I was not going to give up!
My values might be a little cliché but are so true. I treat everyone as I would expect to be treated and if I feel I don’t have anything nice to say, then I don’t say anything! I believe care from the heart means being understanding, having empathy and compassion, as well as being reassuring.
I live in Braintree and have done most of my life. I have seen some changes, some for the better and I love the sense of community here. I enjoy the fact that I am able to see familiar faces when I am out and about.”

Our carers and nurses are highly skilled, with qualifications to manage all types of care, including residential, nursing and dementia. Within each team, we’re also able to offer specialist care for complex conditions.

It’s important to me that we offer a comfortable and homely setting that our residents are proud to call home and support them to be as active and sociable as they wish.

I work with every resident to put an activities plan in place, so they can get involved whenever they wish to and enjoy time socialising with other residents.

Happy St George's day 🏴🏴
Today we celebrated with having a little singalong and dance, we had entertainment by Tracy who was brilliant the residents really enjoyed themselves.

Then this afternoon we had a game of bingo and we had a discussion on St. George's day and we worked through St. George's day activity booklet we read some poetry and did some colouring of the English Rose 🌹

This morning our residents enjoyed Entertainment by hope from Frederick Douglas Care Home Entertainment they really enjoyed the St. George's day session, we had a lovely sing along and enjoyed all the props especially when the bubbles come out😁

Today we spoke about St George's day, and we have been working through our St George's day activity booklet and we decorated our lounge with decorations.

This morning we started our day off with a gentle 20 minute seated exercise, followed by parachute and music and had a singalong.🎶
