Our colleagues and residents at East Hill House Residential Care Home in Liss recently got together to enjoy a fun and flamboyant Hawaiian themed party. Our activities team’s attention to detail was 10/10 as usual and they spared no effort turning our home into a tropical Hawaiian paradise.
This was arranged after many of our residents had requested a Hawaiian party. Our residents regularly work with our activities team, coming up with suggestions for activities and events to keep everyone happy and healthy. We have hosted a variety of different themed events and each year we try to go bigger and better!
Everyone looked fabulous in their flowery garlands and hula skirts and our residents had a great time baking and tasting coconut ice.
We were joined by local entertainer and talented singer, Sophia, who performed various Hawaiian songs and had everyone dancing along and shaking their tambourines.
Our residents had so much fun playing a variety of games including Coconut Shy and Limbo and enjoying a Hawaiian themed menu. Our hospitality team put on a fantastic fruity spread with a fruit buffet presented in the shape of a beautiful butterfly that was almost a shame to eat but too delicious not to!
Everyone had a great time partying Hawaiian style with one of our residents, Teresa, saying, “what a fantastic day! Music and dancing make you feel good and happy inside, I sing like no one is listening and dance like no one is watching! I’ve had a really good day.”
As always, we tip our hats to the team at East Hill House for the huge efforts they make to put smiles on our residents’ faces. A big thank you to Sophia for joining us and making the day so special.
