Aria Care is celebrating the graduation of the first cohort of its innovative leadership development programme.

Launching the Inspiring Leaders Development Programme earlier this year, the course supported colleagues who are committed to becoming high-impact leaders.

Over the past six months, the first 11 delegates, including home managers, have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to enhance communication, refine their leadership styles and master the fundamentals of project management.

Empowering Future Leaders

The programme was aimed to provide valuable insights into business operations. Made up of a range of modules designed to develop leadership and business acumen, the programme enabled delegates to hone their communication skills with modules such as ‘Crucial Conversations’ and ‘The Self-Aware Leader’. A strong focus was also placed on improving care quality. By understanding the regulatory landscape, including inquest management, delegates are now well-prepared to meet the challenges of their roles.

Rhiannon Crofts, home manager at Brook House Care Home in Towcester said: “this programme has changed me as a leader. It made me challenge my own leadership qualities and my ways of working. As a result, my confidence has grown, and I have developed better ways of working. It has taught me to be proud of my knowledge.

The successful participants were also encouraged to enhance their strategic thinking. Practical application was integrated through participation in a live business project ensuring that all graduates were ready to take on any future challenges in their leadership careers.

Building Networks and Sharing Ideas

Abi Rose-Armstrong who is home manager at Strathview Care Home in Auchtermuchty said: “Not only do I feel more confident in myself, I believe that networking has been key to this programme. I’ve enjoyed forging new relationships with colleagues from other communities and the support functions of the business. It’s been great to see that we have common ground and I’ve particularly enjoyed sharing our experiences. It’s been brilliant to take away new ideas, be able to build a better, more cohesive team and to inspire my team members.”

Kelly Howell, chief people officer, said: “We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the graduation of our first cohort of ‘Inspiring Leaders’. They have all demonstrated remarkable growth and we are confident they will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Aria Care and driving positive change in the industry as a whole.”

“This programme is a testament to our commitment to investing in our people and fostering exceptional leadership within the sector.”
