Green Fingers and Big Smiles: Oaklands’ Garden Club Celebrates First Harvest!

Oaklands House Garden Club Enjoys a Bountiful First Harvest

There was a wonderful sense of achievement and joy in the Willow garden and courtyard at Oaklands House, as the Garden Club proudly celebrated their very first harvest of the season.

Basking in the summer sunshine, residents Pam, June and Irene were full of smiles as they carefully picked a vibrant selection of homegrown vegetables. The day’s bounty included runner beans, beetroot, broad beans, cucumbers, lettuce, chillies, and several varieties of tomatoes – all lovingly cultivated by the group over recent weeks.

The colourful tray of freshly picked produce was then presented to the home’s chef, ready to be transformed into something delicious for everyone to enjoy. It was a proud moment that showcased the residents’ dedication, teamwork, and passion for nurturing life through gardening.

A heartfelt well done to the ladies of the Garden Club – your green-fingered efforts are bringing both joy and flavour to the heart of the Oaklands community.
