Intergenerational Week Celebrated with Cuddly Companions and Cherished Connections
As part of Intergenerational Week, the community at Ivy Court were delighted to welcome a visit from local schoolchildren and the delightful Wycombe Pastures Mobile Petting Farm Ltd.
The home’s garden came to life to the sound of bleating and joyful laughter as residents and children came together to meet an array of cuddly animals, from fluffy rabbits to gentle goats. The young visitors and residents spent time stroking the animals, singing familiar nursery rhymes, sharing stories, and enjoying light refreshments of biscuits, squash, and water.
The event was not only an opportunity to enjoy the therapeutic presence of animals, but also a celebration of meaningful intergenerational connections. The children brought with them boundless energy and smiles, creating special moments that we hope the residents will treasure.
Jane, a resident, shared her thoughts on the day: “I had such a lovely time – it was wonderful to see the children and spend time with the animals. It really lifted my spirits.”
This joyful occasion was made possible through the support of Wycombe Pastures Mobile Petting Farm and the local school staff, with preparations coordinated by the care team and teachers, to ensure a memorable experience for all.
At Aria Care, fostering community connections and enriching daily life with uplifting experiences is at the heart of what they do – and this Intergenerational Week event truly captured that spirit.
