A resident at Wytham House Care Home that always has a ‘constant smile’ has celebrated her 100th birthday with a party.

Constance Noakes was born on 15th September 1923 and to commemorate her special birthday, Constance was treated to a party organised by the home and a special birthday cake.

Constance has lived at Wytham House since April 2021. Reflecting on what she enjoys about Wytham House, she said, “I like to socialise with other residents and enjoy the beautiful grounds around the estate, my family visit me often and we spend time together enjoying the wildlife.”

When asked what her secret to a long life was, Constance replied, “enjoy it as much as you’re possibly able to. Live every day. I am not as able as I used to be but enjoy doing what I am able to.”

Michael Daglish, Home Manager said, “Constance is an inspiration to us all. I have known Constance for 16 months and she hasn’t changed a bit, she is still always sharing a smile and has beautiful soft skin. Remember, ‘age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter!’”
