Walstead Place celebrates its 25th anniversary with aerial circus

Walstead Place Care Home has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a Platinum party and a special performance.

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Duncan Pascoe, joined residents and families for a barbecue and enjoyed entertainment by local singer Rosie.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Deputy Mayor and singer Rosie planted a special Platinum rose.

The highlight of the day was a performance of Alice’s Adventure in Aerialand, an aerial circus production by touring theatre company The Dot Collective.

The Dot Collective, formed in 2016, are a charity who create and perform theatre productions to those in care, proven to reduce isolation and create positive experiences for those living with dementia.

Jacquie Ferguson, Home Manager at Walstead Place commented on the day, “at Walstead Place, we have always had a special fete in the summer, this year’s event was different as we were joined by the fantastic Dot Collective. We also had some wonderful prizes in our grand raffle including a year’s subscription to Wakehurst Place and a day out at the Pavilion in Brighton.

Everyone commented on how it was such a wonderful magical day, my team and I were thrilled to host another summer event that brightened everyone’s weekend.”
