Thames View hosts annual summer show

Earlier this month, Thames View Care Home in Thames Ditton hosted its annual summer show to showcase the amazing work the residents do in choir every week.

Led by musician Maciek O’Shea from Lost Chord UK, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of residents who live with dementia, the team, residents, volunteers, relatives, and friends all got together for a fun-filled afternoon.

Maciek commented, “their energy was incredible, they fully embraced the rhythm, showing how music can get us active, unlock memories, and bring so much joy.”

This summer the theme was ‘a carnival of melody and rhythm’, so the music was full of energy, and they even added dance moves to some of the songs. The team dressed up and decorated the room with artwork created by the residents during their arts and crafts sessions.

Health and Wellbeing Lead Raquel commented, “when the summer show is announced, the whole home is filled with excitement, it’s an uplifting event that goes beyond the actual show. We are so lucky to be able to work with professional musicians from Lost Chord UK who are amazing and make the event so special!”
