The residents and colleagues at Thames View Care Home in Thames Ditton took the opportunity to celebrate Silver Sunday, the national day for older people.
Silver Sunday is a national day where people of all generations can come together to tackle loneliness and isolation. The day provides an opportunity to meet new people, visit new places, try new activities and connect with their local communities ad the generations around them.
We took the opportunity to have an afternoon picnic, which had to be brought indoors due to the British weather but that didn’t dampen the celebration or opportunity to chat.
The people living in our community selected music to be played and reflected on what growing older meant to them.
One resident commented “We are Wiser!”
