Colleagues at Thames View shortlisted for prestigious awards

Two colleagues from Thames View Care Home in Thames Ditton have been shortlisted as finalists for the most prestigious awards in the care sector.

Denise McMillan and Raquel Pena Aristizabal have been selected as finalists at this year’s National Care Awards.

Denise is a finalist for the Deputy Home Manager of the Year Award. With 30 years of experience in the care sector, Denise has provided a safe space with plenty of positive energy for those around her at work. She has fostered an environment where residents feel empowered to champion their own needs and her person-centred approach has changed many lives. Denise is passionate when it comes to supporting professional development and upskilling of her colleagues.

Health and Wellbeing Lead Raquel Pena Aristizabal is up for the Care Activities Coordinator of the Year Award. Raquel has been instrumental in transforming the lives of the residents at Thames View by introducing unique and interesting activities into their daily routines, including her dementia friendly music sessions which have proved very popular with both the residents and the local community.

In addition, Aria Care have also been shortlisted in four other categories including Large Care Home Group of the Year. CEO Caroline Roberts expressed her delight to all the finalists, “This is superb recognition of the passion, commitment and the high standard of care provided to the people in our communities. The awards will be held on Friday 24th November at the ExCel in London.
