At Tall Trees for World Kindness Day 2025, the residents and team wanted to do something really special to give back to their local community. Each year, World Kindness Day reminds us of the power simple acts of kindness can have. From making a donation to a local pet shelter, to spending a day volunteering, or bringing a batch of sweet treats into work, there are so many small ways in which we can be kind.
This year, the team at Tall Trees decided they’d love to do something special for all the new parents at the local maternity unit. They got in touch with local businesses to ask them to join with the home in creating bespoke gift bags for new parents to enjoy. The Chipping Norton community were amazingly generous! From fabulous ciders to beautiful handmade lavender bags and Christmas decorations from Beehive Home, lots of local businesses were really keen to take part and give something back to their community.
The Tall Trees team donated beautiful packages of seeds to fill new parents’ gardens with flowers in the springtime, with personalised notes for everyone.
Home Manager, Sharon, said: “At Tall Trees, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our fantastic local community. Having a baby is such an amazing time, so it was a real joy to come together with other local businesses to give something special to new parents in our community this World Kindness Day.”
World Kindness Day is celebrated on 13th November each year, and is intended to encourage acts of kindness between individuals, in workplaces, and in wider communities. Since 1998, World Kindness Day has highlighted the advantages of committing acts of kindness, both to the person who receives them and to the person who engages in them. Being kind doesn’t just benefit the recipient of the act of kindness, but the person who engages in it as well. There are many health benefits associated with being kind, including reducing stress, improvements to heart health, and even stronger immunity.
The Tall Trees team loved giving back to the community this World Kindness Day, and are already making plans for next year!
