The residents and colleagues at Sundridge Court Nursing Home in Bromley spruced up their gardens ready for summer as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom.
After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.
We had a wonderful day as we planted a range of flowers, sowed seeds and created some lovely hanging baskets so our grounds are more beautiful and ready to bloom this summer.
The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.
Theresa Afodume, Home Manager commented on the day “Thank you to everyone for their support and enthusiasm we have truly made a difference in enhancing our outdoor spaces for our residents and visitors to enjoy.”
The winning home and runners up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
