Scoonie House pay respects on Remembrance Day

At Scoonie House Care Home in Leven, residents and members of the team gathered to commemorate Remembrance Day and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served and fell in war to preserve our peace and freedom.

The wellbeing team decorated the home with poppies, wreaths, and flags ready for the day and put on a coffee morning for residents to spend some time chatting and reminiscing.

The team handed out Remembrance crosses for residents to write messages to their lost family and friends and display in the Memory Garden as a tribute to those that they love and miss. Everyone came together for a two-minute silence to honour the fallen.

Resident Marlene commented on an emotional day – “thank you for a lovely tribute. It was wonderful being able to write a message to my beloved husband who I miss so much.”
