Residents and colleagues at Riverside Place Care Home in Ware have recently taken part in a sponsored cycle event to raise funds for a local charity.
The event was held to fundraise for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Service. The challenge, held on 6th March, saw enthusiastic participation from both colleagues and residents, resulting in an impressive total of 154.4 miles cycled within 8 hours.
The event gained support from the local community, with donations pouring in through a JustGiving page as well as collection buckets set up on the day of the event. The collective efforts of all involved ensured a significant contribution of £250 towards supporting the vital services provided by the air ambulance.
To commemorate the cheque presentation, the residents of Riverside Place were joined by volunteer Ian Thomas, who gave a talk about the essential services provided by the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Service.
Christine Daley, Home Manager at Riverside Place Care Home commented, “Essex and Herts Air Ambulance is a vital charity operating an emergency service within a large region. We wanted to have as big an impact as possible on the charity and the people its supports. Both our residents and the team at Riverside felt that by supporting this charity we could potentially reach more people and have a positive impact on their lives.”
