At Riverside Place we understand the importance of supporting residents to maintain links with their local communities. That’s why we play an active part in our community. We hold events throughout the year, and work closely with groups, schools and charities to ensure residents continue to enjoy a rewarding social life, and the chance to make new friends and try new things.
Our aim is to put a focus on the community. We want to boost morale and encourage neighbourly togetherness as well as to improve health and wellbeing in the district. Below are details of our upcoming events:

Marie Curie Fundraiser
Date: Wednesday 13th August
Time: From 12pm
We wish to invite the local community to join us at our Cream Tea fundraiser, all in support of the excellent Marie Curie charity.

Cyber Anti scamming and Fraud Prevention
Date: Tuesday 19th August
Time: From 2pm to 4pm
Alan Mordey and Natalie Skinner from Herts Police have agreed to do an event in the Wadesmill lounge. The will also be advertising this event for us. Following meeting on the 20.06.25. It was agreed that two of the local community police officers would be happy to run the event in the Wadesmill lounge on Tuesday 19th August 2pm – 4pm. The will also advert the venue and event in the local Herts Connect platforms. They will put limited carparking and to call Sharon Butler to confirm attendance. The advert to be considered in collaboration with police and Riverside Place.

The Importance of Good Oral Care
Date: Wednesday 17th September
Time: From 2pm
Molly Admiral, nurse and leader of the Forget Me Not programme in the Lister hospital, has agreed to run the event.
Lots of dementia stakeholders will be supporting this.

Time: 10.30am – 11.30am
Join us for our monthly Dementia Friendship Café an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment, with cake and beverages.

Time: 10.30am – 11.30am
Join us for our Friendship Café each month. Take some time to come in for a chat whilst enjoying cakes and beverages. Dog walkers welcome – please call to confirm attendance.
