The community at Riverside Place Care Home created their own Beach Day this month and welcomed family and friends to come along and join them at the seaside!
In the gardens of the home, we created our own beach environment, complete with the British favourite – donkeys!
A daughter of one of our residents, Lesley, brought in a donkey to visit with our residents. Our imaginations went into overdrive, as we chatted and reminisced about past beach visits, donkey rides and everything associated with the seaside.
During the morning, we welcomed our lovely local entertainer, Cara Bo, who came and sang for us, to the delight of everyone, including those who got involved with singing along and dancing.
A couple of our residents commented on the day, “they are the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted”, said Diane and Rosie added “I’ve loved dancing and seeing a real donkey”.
