Ron and Pat Jackson, residents at Riverside Place Care Home celebrated 70 years together last month and received a telegram from King Charles III.
Celebrations for Ron and Pat also coincided with the home taking part in a nationwide afternoon tea to mark the launch of the new care home group, Aria Care, which Riverside Place is now part of.
Our catering team prepared a buffet and the local Asda donated a personalised cake featuring a photo of the couple. We decorated the home with balloons and bunting and entertainment was provided by local performer Dennis, AKA One Man Stand. There was also a special performance from our own health care support worker Chantal, who sang for the couple.
Home Manager Edwin Cabagui, said: “We’d like to congratulate Ron and Pat on 70 wonderful years together – what a fantastic achievement. They had a wonderful day celebrating and Chantal’s performance in particular moved everyone to tears.
“The afternoon tea was a hit with both residents and the team at Riverside Place – our phenomenal catering team really outdid themselves for the joint occasion of our brand new launch and Ron and Pat’s big day”. In response to the celebrations on the day, Ron said “It was just brilliant!”.
