Recently at Riverside Place Care Home in Ware, we celebrated a big day for one of our beloved residents, Marjorie – her 102nd birthday!
Marjorie has been a resident at our home for nearly two years and is an absolute joy. She enjoys baking, knitting and jigsaws and she has a brilliant sense of humour, always chatting with our team and making them laugh.
She especially loves spending time with her family and friends, who were planning to visit for her birthday, so our activities team and chef made a real day of it.
We decorated our lounge, and our chef put together a lovely buffet that was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and specially made a delicious chocolate birthday cake topped with strawberries and sprinkles that Marjorie absolutely loved.
Everyone had a wonderful time, with our birthday girl saying, “I didn’t think anyone was coming, what a lovely surprise!” and family adding, “thank you so much for all you do, it has been a lovely afternoon.”
Moments like this are very precious to us at Riverside Place and our team love being able to make special days for our residents extra special!
