The women at Riverside Place Care Home wanted to dress up. They thought Ascot Ladies Day was a great chance to do so!
Before Ascot Ladies Day, we made hats and fascinators. We used tissue paper flowers to decorate them. On the day itself, we had a pamper morning with massage, make up and manicures. In the afternoon, we had elderflower cordial cocktails and afternoon tea whilst watching the races.
Residents had a sweepstake on the 3.05pm race, where Desert Storm (the King’s horse) won! Rita won a floral ornament for picking the winner.
It was a wonderful couple of days and our ladies thoroughly enjoyed putting on their finery and being spoilt for a day. Marjory said “I just love looking at all the fashions , if I get married again, I want a copy made of Queen Camilla’s outfit!”.
