At Riverside Place Care Home in Ware, we celebrated Armed Forces Day to show our appreciation for the sacrifices our brave troops make daily. It’s an important day to our residents so we pulled out all the stops to make it a special one.
We made our salute in style with Army themed flags and banners decorating the home, Armed Forces T-shirts sported by our team and residents and colourful cupcakes beaming in red, white and blue.
To kick off the celebration, we played an Army word game that was both a great memory challenge for our residents and a lot of fun for all!
We played ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ with a stunning Armed Forces Day cake baked by the talented Yvonne. Barbara was our winner and was also kind enough to share her prize with everyone. We almost felt guilty demolishing Yvonne’s beautiful creation…almost!
Armed Forces Day coincided with our Care Home Open Week and we were delighted to welcome friends old and new to join in with the fun and see the facilities our beautiful home has to offer.
Our team, residents and guests paid an important tribute to our forces last Saturday and had a great time while doing it! We thank everyone who visited and made it a wonderful day.
