Mount Pleasant Care Home in Winshill enjoys stunning views over surrounding fields towards Bladon Castle and Newton Solney, nestled between the footpath and the village shops just by Dale Brook. Just a few miles from the local town, the walk to the village is a popular route for hikers and dog-lovers alike. Mount Pleasant residents and the team have built up close relationships with our local community and no two days are the same.
“We have a flexible approach to supporting our community day-to-day to meet each person’s individual needs and support their interests. Family and Friends are welcome to visit any time day or night and spend time with their loved ones are invited to participate in our many and varied activities”, says Home Manager Nikki Kelly.
It seemed to fitting for Mount Pleasant to open their doors to local dog walkers earlier in the year. The first doggy café in January proved a ‘woofing’ success!
Home Manager Nikki explains, “It was lovely to welcome both wonderful human and canine friends into our home. We loved seeing other members of the community and their pets! The visitors also enjoyed a brew following a brisk walk in the surrounding countryside. As you will see from the photographs, our community really enjoyed meeting the furry friends and our residents created homemade cheesy dog treats for our four-legged friends. We are looking forward to running this as a regular event.”
This is what life at Mount Pleasant is all about. “Our local community is an extension of the community in our home. We are frequent visitors at the local community centre and adjacent charity shop. Children from two local nurseries and the local village primary school visit us and participate in activities, which everyone loves. We try to ensure that the people who choose Mount Pleasant as their home feel that it truly is their home. We always say Mount Pleasant is an extension of our own family.”
Following on from the success of the first Doggy Café Mount Pleasant will be holding a monthly Doggy Café on the third Thursday of each month, the next one is Thursday 15th February, 9:30-12:30pm. See our events at Mount Pleasant.
