Miranda House shines at Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival

Residents and staff at Miranda House Care Home had great fun being part of the 50th Anniversary Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival.

Wootton Bassett Carnival procession is a fantastic local tradition that takes place in May every year. The main event is the Grand Procession. This year it included professional acts such as Dolphin Marching Band, Britannia Majorettes, Flaming Feathers, Ministry of Samba, Walking Dinosaur and Elton Wrong. Other entrants are local schools, pre-schools, Cubs, Beavers, Brownies, Rainbows, pubs, businesses, care homes, clubs, charities, organisations and many more.

The theme for this years 50th anniversary of the town’s carnival was ‘gold’. Many local companies and organisations got involved with the procession and the team at Miranda House had a stall at the home themed for the golden anniversary.

On Carnival Day, the High Street and Borough Fields are packed with dancers, singers, bands and many more to entertain the local community for free.

We were honoured to receive the award for ‘overall winners for category 5’ at this year’s carnival. We look forward to entering the home next year and defending our title!
