The residents and team at Miranda House Care Home have been busy decorating the home and making a wreath to mark Remembrance Day.
Over the last couple of weeks the residents and wellbeing team have been doing a range of arts and crafts to make poppy decorations for the home as well as a wreath. As everyone wanted to pay their respects and mark the day, which of course, provokes a lot of emotions for our residents’.
As you can see from the video below a range of poppies and Lest we Forget decorations were made by the residents.
A resident from the home along with both the Wellbeing Coordinators went to a service at St Bartholomew’s Church last Sunday and then took the finished wreath to the memorial in the high street and joined other members of the local community to pay their respects on behalf of everyone at the home.
The day meant so much to all our residents and it was lovely to be able to pay homage to our soldiers.
Arts and crafts sessions at the home are very popular as they are a way for residents to show their creative side, while feeling engaged and provides an opportunity to socialise and share stories.
