Residents and the team at Marchglen Care Home celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III by having a singer and a pipe band visit the home, followed by a delicious BBQ and raffle.
Leona came to our home and sang for our residents, who clapped and danced along to all her songs. Then we had a pipe band play some lovely Scottish tunes on their pipes – our residents loved it!
We had a BBQ to finish off our celebrations, made by our own kitchen team. Thank you to Lorraine, Fiona and Abby. We also held a raffle which raised £83 for the resident’s fund. Our chef Lorraine made a beautiful cake to mark the occasion and a very tasty quiche, that was fit for a king!
A momentous event in our history, the Coronation of King Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. It took place on Saturday 6th May at Westminster Abbey and many of our homes organised celebrations to mark this occasion.
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us on the day and also to Leona and Ally Graham and the pipe band for coming to entertain us, it was much appreciated, and we all had fun!
Our Coronation celebrations at Marchglen were a wonderful and fitting tribute to the new King and his wife.
