The Dot Collective perform at Magna Care

Magna Care The Dot Collective

Magna Care Centre in Wimborne was visited by the brilliant The Dot Collective to perform their exciting show, ‘The Dream Sequence.’ Using our front lawn as their stage, the talented group put on an unforgettable performance for our residents with flamboyant costumes, breathtaking acrobatics and captivating storytelling.

The Dot Collective is a theatre company and charity that perform innovative, dementia-friendly theatre for care homes, dementia groups and older people that find it challenging to attend a theatre. Their aim is to create colourful and engaging shows that are cognitively stimulating for those living in care, particularly those living with dementia.

The group visited us last year to perform their ‘Alice’s Adventures in Aerialand’ show and our residents loved them so much, we had to have them back again as part of our Monthly Big Events.

The show, inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was a visually stunning display incorporating a massive rig with an aerial rope for acrobatics, set up right on our front lawn! Our residents were absolutely captivated and we all had a ‘flipping’ good time watching this unique style of theatre. One of our residents, Roy Manners, affectionately known as ‘Raffle Roy,’ said it was fantastic and that he can’t wait for them to come back.

Thank you The Dot Collective for putting on an absolute showstopper for us, our team and residents can’t wait to see you all perform again!
