Knowle Park are celebrating after positive CQC inspection

Knowle Park Care Home Team celebrating CQC result in 2022

The team at Knowle Park Care Home are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating across all five areas in its most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.

Patient care is top priority at Knowle Park and ensuring the safety of all residents is paramount. When asked about the level of care received, one patient said: “I feel very safe. The building is secure, and the staff are very good.”

One of the many highlights of the CQC report was the relationship between residents and staff. The report said: “People were supported by kind and caring staff who treated them with dignity and respect. Staff respected people’s privacy and encouraged independence.”

The report concluded that staff also felt supported by the management team, having spoken to 10 members of staff including managers, senior care workers and housekeeping staff.

One staff member said: “The induction and training was good. It was more detailed and hands on than I thought it would be. There was more equipment. I shadowed multiple times with staff.”

Relatives praised the home regarding their handling of the COVID pandemic in particular. One said: “They have been brilliant. Throughout the various restrictions they have bent over backwards. If it meant window visits or visits with full PPE and testing, they have done everything possible to make sure we see them as much as possible.”

Regional Manager Anthony Lane praised the hardworking team by saying “the results of their most recent CQC have proven the hard work by the staff at Knowle Park has provided the best outcome for the residents. We’re delighted with the findings in the report and look forward to maintaining this high standard.”

Inspectors commended Knowle Park for its support of patients at risk of anxiety, noting the guidance for staff on how to support residents’ individual needs and witnessing the staff following the guidance to ensure residents were cared for in conjunction with this.
