This month the residents and staff at Kippingtons enjoyed a visit by the team at Our Amazing Animal World.
Residents showed an interest in some animal-based activities, so we invited Our Amazing Animal World, who are professional animal handlers into the home. This group offers unique animal encounters to care homes and other places with the aim of making lives better through the joy of their amazing rescue animals.
Animal-assisted therapy is a growing area that uses all types of animals to help people recover or cope better with health problems. It has been proven that contact with animals can help depression, loneliness, boredom and anxiety. Our residents had a wonderful time and loved ‘having a cuddle’ with the animals.
Kippingtons Nursing Home in Sevenoaks has 50 bedrooms within this beautiful Victorian building, with several of the bedrooms enjoying views over the beautifully landscaped gardens. The home provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis.
