Kingsclear welcomes back musical favourites

There was a real buzz at Kingsclear Care Home in Camberley recently as residents gathered to enjoy an afternoon of live music from two much-loved regular acts.

The Camberley Ukulele Band, made up of musicians aged 60 and over, returned for another lively performance. Visiting every couple of months and performing free of charge, the band has become a well-known part of the Kingsclear community. One member has a particularly close link to the home — his mother was a resident and lived there until the age of 104. Their set included timeless classics like Can’t Help Falling in Love, stirring fond memories with lots of happy tears.

Later in the afternoon, solo performer Matt took to the stage with his ukulele. A familiar face at Kingsclear, Matt has built a strong bond with residents over time — not just through his music, but by remembering the songs that matter most to them. His thoughtful set included favourites like We’ll Meet Again, which had residents joining in and holding hands, along with wartime melodies and old London singalongs.

A huge thank you to both the Camberley Ukulele Band and Matt for another special day at Kingsclear!
