Residents at Kingsclear Care Home have had the delight of watching a clutch of chicks hatch over the past month. Several gorgeous Easter chicks were lovingly cared for by our residents and team as eggs, kept warm in incubators, until they hatched earlier this month – stealing out hearts!
Over the past couple of weeks, they have grown significantly and are doing so well. They love being the centre of attention with our residents at Kingsclear and two of them in particular, love posing for the camera – Blue and Cheddar!
At Kingsclear we love animal related activities, as this type of therapy can help people recover or cope better with health problems. Animal-assisted therapy is a growing area that uses all types of animals and it has been proven that contact with animals can help depression, loneliness, boredom and anxiety. It can also aid in recovery, rehabilitation and help improve mental health and wellbeing. As well as increase motor skills and movement and help improve social skills.
