The wellbeing team and residents at Kingsclear Care Home in Camberley worked together to make Remembrance Day a special day for everyone to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many.
The lead-up to the occasion was marked by a creative and meaningful project, an art and crafts session where residents created Remembrance Day decorations to be displayed around the home. They all took great pride in their work, handcrafting poppies and painting beautiful tributes to the armed forces.
The wellbeing team, Harry, Erin and Sienna, decorated the entrance with a huge poppy themed balloon arch and had a great day planned out for residents, starting off with a coffee morning for residents to relax and share their stories, followed by a moment of silence to pay their respects. Then the wonderful Eleanor set up stage in the lounge and performed war time classics and some nostalgic golden oldies for residents.
To end a wonderful day, Kingsclear was also celebrating the birthdays of two very special residents – Shirley was celebrating her 89th birthday and Joyce was celebrating reaching the remarkable milestone of turning 101! The hospitality team baked two beautiful cakes for the ladies and Eleanor led the residents in singing Happy Birthday.
