The residents at Huntercombe Hall Care Home in Henley-on-Thames got a masterclass in bread baking this week.
Our Head Chef Pedro showed our residents how to make bread and got them involved in the fun, there was a fair bit of mess as well but everyone enjoyed themselves. The result of their culinary activity were some buns which were enjoyed by everyone with a hearty soup for lunch.
It is lovely to see all our residents working together and chatting throughout, sharing their stories of previous baking successes and in some cases disasters and getting tips from Pedro. Baking is a popular activity at our home and is good for joint mobility and the smell of baking can help to stimulate appetites too.
During the activity it was commented “It’s a cherished opportunity for our residents to enjoy following recipes, mixing ingredients and sharing their creations.”
Watch this space to see what our residents make at our next baking masterclass!
