The residents and colleagues at Hulcott Nursing Home in Aylesbury were joined by relatives and the local community including the 9th Aylesbury Cubs Scout as they came together to create a vibrant outdoor space as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom.
After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.
We had a wonderful day as we had a tidy up, painted benches and planted colourful flowers around the garden for all to enjoy.
The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.
The home commented on the success of Aria in Bloom, “Thank you to everyone who joined us and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Guy Horwood, Sherrilyn Bateman, Barbara Bateman, Helen Weston & Scott, Andrew Harper and the 9th Aylesbury Cubs Scout for their continued support and engagement.”
The winning home and runners up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
