Residents and staff at Galsworthy House Care Home enjoyed the sunshine at Richmond Park, whilst having traditional fish and chips lunch wrapped in newspaper, along with picnic food and ice lollies.
Home Manager Eva Trochim said: “we started bringing the residents down to the park during National Picnic Week, as it was a great way to get out and about and enjoy the lovely weather we have been having. This has become a regular outing for us over the summer and the residents love it!”.
National Picnic Week aims to encourage people to take the opportunity to get together, share food and drink and enjoy the local area. Picnicking is one of the UK’s most enjoyable summer traditions and is a great way to take advantage of open spaces.
