Every November, World Kindness Day gives us all the opportunity to remember the value of small acts of kindness. From paying for someone’s coffee, to donating to your local foodbank, or even giving someone a simple smile, this is a day to recognise the incomparable value of being kind, and how kindness can make our communities happier places.
At Galsworthy House, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our community, and this World Kindness Day was no exception! We’re in awe of the fantastic work our emergency services do each and every day, so doing something to say thank you to them felt like the perfect way to honour this special day. The Galsworthy team set off bright and early to deliver all sorts of goodies to our amazing emergency service key workers. We dropped off tasty homemade treats to brighten the days of our local fire, ambulance and police crews, all of which were very gratefully received!
Did you know that being kind not only helps the person receiving the act of kindness, but the person performing it too? Various studies suggest that being kind can bring an array of health benefits, including increased heart health, stronger immunity, and reduced stress.
Our residents very much got into the spirit of World Kindness Day too, coming together to share inspirational kindness-themed quotes, such as “kindness grows when shared.” We couldn’t agree more!
