Making the most of the sunshine at Firtree House

Four residents sitting around a table in Firtree Care Home's garden

Residents at Firtree House have been making the most of the sunshine with a wonderful coffee morning and lunch in the garden, followed later in the week with some spring planting!

Many of us welcome the chance to enjoy some quality time, sitting quietly and relaxing and the gardens at Firtree House provide our residents with that safe haven. A perfect place to soak up the sunshine and watch the world go by.

Many of our residents like to use this space to socialise with their friends, get some fresh air and have stimulating conversations.

In addition to this, residents have been putting their green fingers to good use with a spot of spring planting. Gardening is a lovely activity that is great for stimulating the senses, as well as engaging residents to help maintain independence and increase socialisation within the home.

Smells and scents can have several benefits from evoking memories to creating a calming influence. Our ladies were busy planting seeds of Marigold, Sunflower, Sweetpea and Petunia.
