Meet the Manager

“One of the best things about my job is knowing that our residents are living their best life, seeing their smiles, and knowing we are looking after them.”

I’m Rhiannon Crofts and I am the Home Manager here at Brook House. I started working life in the Met Police and Thames Valley Police, recruiting, and assisting the CPS to take people to court. Alongside this I did some voluntary work with young adults with mental illness. It was doing this that I decided to do some nurse training for two years. Once completed I worked for 12 years in an A&E department before working as part of a District Nursing team. I felt I wanted to have more of an impact, so moved into the social care sector, working for Crossroads – East Midlands and Buckinghamshire. Then onto residential care as a Care Manager, before becoming a Deputy Home Manager and then a Home Manager at a care home. I then was promoted to Operations manager which gave me the opportunity to support care homes within the central England region.

Now as a Home Manager for Aria Care I manage all aspects of the homes operation and monitor the high standard of care to our residents. I strive for continuous improvement and like to be hands-on and involved in the day-to-day care. I maintain good communication with my team, residents and families and feel that it is important to get to know everyone. I also like to have good community engagement, as it is important that our home is part of our local community. One of the best things about my job is knowing that our residents are living their best life, seeing their smiles, and knowing we are looking after them. I am delighted to say that I smile everyday coming into work. Everything we do at Brook House is from the heart and it is not a job, but a passion. We are building a home together – team and residents.

My biggest achievement has to be my two daughters. I like to think that I have instilled a good work ethic in them. In my spare time I am involved with various voluntary and charity work. Fundraising for a local community charity – the Hope Centre – that helps with homelessness. I am also a member of the local Rotary Club.

I live about 10 miles away in Northampton I have lived there for 8 years, previously living in Brackley for 21 years when my children were young. I love the area as it is a central base for me, with family in both Wales and Birmingham. There is always a lot going on in the area that we can get involved in. If you’d like to see our home please do get in touch, I would love to show you around.
