A resident at Ferfoot Care Home in Chippenham recently marked his 81st birthday in a truly extraordinary way, thanks to the dedicated team who went above and beyond to make his special day unforgettable.
John Cass’ connection to the world of ice cream was revealed by one of our senior carers during a casual conversation. It turned out that John had spent a significant part of his working life as a traditional ice cream man with his own van.
Eager to celebrate this remarkable aspect of John’s life, our team contacted his family to obtain a photograph of John’s cherished ice cream van. With the creative touch of our talented Chef Leanne, the iconic van was brought to life in the form of a delightful cake.
However, the surprises didn’t end there. We reached out to local ice cream provider Raffaele’s Ice Cream, who generously brought one of their vans to the home for the celebration. John eagerly hopped into the van and took on the role of the ice cream man once again, joyously serving ice creams to his family and fellow residents.
