Dormy House Care Home in Sunningdale is launching a free Friendship Café for the local community.
Designed to provide a welcoming space for elderly individuals to socialise with family and friends, guests can also enjoy free teas, coffees, cakes, and more.
The café will be open every last Tuesday of the month. The next event will be on 27th June from 2pm – 4pm where we will be joined by representatives from Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society and the Society of Later Life Advisors for all financial matters who will be on hand to answer any queries.
Recognising the importance of social connections for overall wellbeing, George King, Regional Sales Support Manager, emphasised the benefits of the café: “We are providing a space for the local community to get together and talk, and since the pandemic, peoples’ mental health has been impacted mainly due to being isolated and lonely. The idea of the café is to break that cycle and to give the community the confidence to get out and have something to look forward to.”
In addition, the Friendship Café also serves as a platform to showcase the welcoming and enjoyable environment that Dormy House offers.
This community-driven initiative is expected to serve as a vital resource for the local area, providing a much-needed gathering place for people to connect, share stories, and build lasting relationships.
Dormy House provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call freephone 0808 223 5424.
