Dormy House residents and team raise funds for Sunny Days

Dormy House Sunny Days raffle

Sunny Days Children’s Fund is a children’s charity that helps bring happiness into the lives of needy children. Inspired to help support the charity’s incredible work, Dormy House Care Home in Sunningdale decided to hold a fundraising event and had fun along the way.

Raffle prizes were donated by members of the Dormy House team to raise money for this worthy cause. It was amazing to see all the displayed prizes and Dormy receptionist Michelle did a fantastic job selling tickets.

Sunny Days support children in a variety of ways such as providing equipment to help disabled children with their homework and making sure they can attend their vital specialist hospital appointments, even if it means travelling long distances. Sunny Days also have two holiday homes and both have proved to be very popular providing much- needed breaks for families.

The team at Dormy all played a vital part in the fundraising event. Residents, relatives and staff all contributed generously and this was a huge success, as they more than doubled their original target of £50. Resident Carol drew the first ticket. After the raffle, Carol’s husband Rod said’ “It’s a shame we didn’t reach £100”, then kindly gave £20. As a result of Rod and everyone’s generosity, Dormy House far exceeded their target and raised £105 for this charitable event.

We are appreciative of everyone’s efforts, a big thanks to all!
