Dormy House hosts classic car show

Last week, residents at Dormy House care home in Sunningdale took a trip down memory lane when they were joined by members from the Berkshire and District Classic Car Club who showcased their classic vehicles.

A club formed by local classic car owners from Berkshire and surrounding areas, the Berkshire and District Classic Car Club (BADCCC) entertained the residents and sparked nostalgia with their impressive cars and stories.

One of the residents Ron had a wonderful surprise when he was reunited with an old friend and colleague. After not seeing each other for 8 years, they enjoyed reminiscing about happy memories of when they used to work together in the toolmaking industry. Community Relations Manager Pamela Sharman commented, “he had happy tears of joy and was still talking about this the next day.”

A member of the club, Sandra Lowry commented, “it was a joy and privilege to visit Dormy House today, it’s a beautiful home. We were so pleased it created so much delight with the residents, all the car owners said they really enjoyed the event and the warm welcome they received.”

Admiring the iconic cars and learning about their histories, all residents thoroughly enjoyed the club’s visit. To say thank you, Dormy House offered them a delicious high tea after the show.
