Dormy House celebrates colleagues with a week of events

Dormy House Care Home in Sunningdale has kicked off a week-long celebration in honour of their dedicated team members and all those who work in the care sector.

The aim of the week is to recognise and appreciate the hard work and commitment of care workers who support their residents and their families.

The festivities began on Monday with a hearty cooked breakfast, served to all team members by the management team, setting a warm and appreciative tone for the week ahead. “We are extremely proud of our team at Dormy House,” said home manager Carmela Magbitang. “Their hard work is shining through, and this week is about celebrating their invaluable contributions.”

Throughout the week, Dormy House Care Home will host a variety of events to honour their colleagues. A highly anticipated raffle will take place, featuring gifts generously donated by the management team, friends, and relatives of the residents.

The excitement doesn’t stop there; Wednesday will bring a vibrant Culture Day, showcasing the diverse backgrounds of the Dormy House team. Colleagues will share samples of traditional foods from their home countries, with each country’s flag proudly displayed. This event will not only celebrate the team’s cultural diversity but also offer a delightful culinary experience for everyone involved.

“Everyone who works in the care sector are carers, and we want to celebrate each one of them and express our gratitude for all the hard work they do for our residents,” said Carmela.

“We have colleagues from various cultural backgrounds, and as part of our celebration, we aim to get to know them better by giving them an opportunity to introduce their own culture to our residents and colleagues.”

Dormy House’s celebrations are a true testament to the vital role that care workers play in enriching the lives of residents and their families.
