Garden delights at Denham Manor

Residents and colleagues were basking in the sunshine at Denham Manor Care Home, Uxbridge as they joined together in sprucing up the garden. Set in beautiful grounds they have the perfect blend of old and new. Some little creatures, attracted by the bright colours even joined us for our Aria In Bloom day! The results speak for themselves.

After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.

Home Manager Chris Ashton commented on the success of Aria in Bloom, “Today residents, relatives colleagues got stuck in to give our garden a pop of colour for Aria in Bloom. We have been planting away in the sunshine with thanks to everyone who helped us today! We can’t wait to enjoy the warm weather in our lovely garden. Another thank you to the team at Nik’s Nursery Ltd in Denham for all your help and support with our garden!”

As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.

The winning home and runners-up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
