Deer Park View residents receive Cards of Kindness

Recently at Deer Park View Care Centre in Teddington, our residents received Cards of Kindness from Embracing Age.

Founded in 2014, Embracing Age is a Christian charity working towards a world where older people are valued, connected, and full of hope. Cards of Kindness is one of the many projects they run to help residents without family or friends. Created by volunteers, the cards are delivered to brighten up the residents’ days.

After meeting Shabnum Kramer (Embracing Age’s Richmond coordinator) during one of their coffee mornings back in July, Lead Wellbeing Coordinator Monica Serrano was keen to get Deer Park View involved and discuss how their volunteers could support the residents.

Monica said, “I sent a list of residents who I felt would benefit from this joyful project and their theme of interest. Sandy (Cards of Kindness coordinator) visited to deliver the cards and meet the residents. She experienced firsthand their joy and how moved they were by this gesture.”

Deer Park View Centre provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call us on freephone 0808 223 5422.
