The residents and colleagues at Deer Park View Care Centre in Teddington came together to spruce up the gardens as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom and following all the hard work celebrated with a garden party.
After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.
We had a wonderful day as we planted a range of flowers around the garden and in planters for everyone to enjoy throughout the summer and we then took the opportunity to have our first garden party to celebrate.
The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.
Home Manager Michael Smith commented on the success of Aria in Bloom, “Thank you to everyone’s hard work. It’s incredible to see how Aria in Bloom has brought everyone together to make such a beautiful change in our community. The support and enthusiasm from everyone involved have truly made a difference in enhancing our outdoor spaces.”
The winning home and runners up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
