A resident at Coppice Lea Care Home in Merstham has received an early Christmas surprise after winning Aria Care Group’s highly anticipated annual Christmas card competition.
Doreen Simon was chosen as the winner for her stunning sparkly candle design, selected from 52 creative entries submitted by residents and colleagues across Aria’s care homes nationwide.
Doreen shared her delight in winning, saying: “I could not be happier to be the winner, although I must say that I had a little help with the glitter and the glue, things became a little sticky.”
Maria Stancu, home manager at Coppice Lea, said: “We’re so proud of Doreen and her wonderful design. It’s fantastic to see her creativity celebrated in such a meaningful way. This competition is a lovely tradition that brings all our residents together, and Doreen’s success is the perfect start to our Christmas festivities.”
In addition, resident Shirley Landy and Wellbeing Lead Harry Entwisle from Kingsclear Care Home in Camberley and Poppy Dickie from Cedar View Care Centre in Croydon, impressed the judges with their Christmas tree designs, earning them the runner up prize.
