The residents and team at Brook House Care Home took the opportunity this week to celebrate the great British tradition of Afternoon Tea with their own Alice and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party event.
Afternoon Tea Week which took place from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th August is a perfect excuse to catch up with loved ones over a cup of tea and some delicious treats.
Thank you to Dave our Chef and the fantastic kitchen team, for your efforts in making over 100 amazing jam tarts and four Victoria sponge cakes, all of which were gluten free. It was wonderful to see our home full of visiting professionals and children, all in fancy-dress costumes. The poor Mad Hatter and Julie our Admin had a difficult job choosing a winner!
We would like to thank all our staff, especially those members of the team who came in on their day off to help make the event a huge success. It was great to see everyone here enjoying themselves and laughing, it was pure joy!
These types of events enable those living in our communities to come together, share stories and build meaningful connections, contributing to overall happiness and a sense of belonging, making you feel part of a community who care from the heart.
Also a huge thanks to Wacky Wardrobe Costumes for the hire of the amazing Wonderland costumes and our wonderful Health & Wellbeing Co-ordinators, Martin and Jennie, for all their hardwork and effort into making this event happen and giving our residents, relatives and the wider community a wonderful experience.
