The residents and colleagues at Brook House Care Home in Towcester were joined by relatives as they came together to add a splash of colour to the gardens as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom.
Home Manager Rhiannon Crofts said, “ It was such ‘floral-tastic’ day where all the residents and team came together with family and our lovely friends from The Rotary Club of Towcester to plant pots, hang baskets and enjoy the warm sunny weather.
We’ve seen the home’s garden transform into a perfect tranquil garden surrounded by colour and glorious smells – ready for all to enjoy on these long sunny summer evenings. We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Towcester for their continuous support of Brook House and for working so hard with our residents in the garden to provide us with the means to enjoy this wonderful outdoor space. Thank you to all our relatives who joined us, we are very lucky to have such wonderful support from you all, we look forward to enjoying the summer with you all in our wonderful garden.”
The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.
The winning home and runners-up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
